Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing the Unrest website and joining our waitlist, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Eligibility

Unrest is a community designed exclusively for students of Delhi University. To officially claim a pass, you must possess a valid, active `.du.ac.in` email address provided by your college.

3. User Conduct

When participating in our pre-launch features (such as the Echo Wall) and in the Unrest app, you agree to:

• Be respectful to other users and colleges.
• Not post any defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, or illegal content.
• Not impersonate any other person or misrepresent your college affiliation.

Zero tolerance: Unrest has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Violations lead to content removal and account removal. You must be 16 or older and a university student to use Unrest.

Report objectionable posts and block abusive users in the app. We review reports within 24 hours, remove offending content, and eject repeat offenders.

We reserve the right to remove any submissions that violate these terms, at our sole discretion, through our moderation team.

4. In-App Community Guidelines

Before creating an account or signing in to Unrest, you must agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. By using user-generated features (posts, comments, Corridor chats, activity group chats, and messages), you accept that moderators may remove content and suspend accounts without notice when guidelines are violated.

5. Campus Activities & Group Chats

Unrest may allow students to post campus activities (for example hangouts, study sessions, or sports) and to join an associated group chat with other participants. Activity listings and chats are created by users, not by Unrest.

• Joining an activity chat may show your profile information (such as display name, username, college, course, and profile photo) to other participants so they can coordinate and verify who they are meeting.
• Unrest does not organize, host, supervise, or endorse offline meetups. We are a platform that helps students connect; we are not a party to any arrangement made between users.
• You are solely responsible for your conduct in chats and for any decision to meet others in person.

6. In-Person Meetups & Limitation of Liability

Important: Interacting with other users offline carries inherent risks. By using Unrest, you acknowledge and agree that:

• Any in-person meeting arranged through the app is at your own risk. Unrest is not responsible for the actions, conduct, safety, or identity of any user before, during, or after an offline meeting.
• Unrest does not conduct criminal background checks on users and cannot guarantee that a profile is accurate or that a person is who they claim to be.
• You should use common sense: meet in public places when possible, tell a friend where you are going, and stop contact and report/block users who behave inappropriately.
• To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Unrest, its operators, and affiliates disclaim all liability for any injury, loss, damage, dispute, or harm arising from user-generated content, online interactions, or offline meetings between users — whether or not those meetings were arranged through an activity, chat, Corridor match, or other feature of the app.
• Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (including where consumer protection law applies).

If you believe a user poses an immediate safety risk, contact local emergency services first, then report the user in the app and email contact@unrestdu.in.

7. Waitlist & Rewards

Being on the waitlist or claiming a digital pass does not guarantee immediate access to the app upon launch. Perks such as "founding member badges" and merchandise are distributed at the discretion of the Unrest team and are subject to availability.

8. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms as we transition from a waitlist to a fully functioning application in June 2026. Continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of those changes.
